Ironclaw notied that the battle was over just as Aurora did. He saw her rushed off to be by Whitegrazer's side. He cared for her aswell but knew he wouldn't be any help being by her side. Instead he got off the Nomad and proceeded across the battle feild.
He saw that both Whitegrazer and Arachnitron were in bad condition but were being attended to. He acknowledge Optimus walking by him carrying Arachnitron. He gave him a quick nod then moved on. Whitegrazer's call outs as she was being carried got to him slightly but he maintained his focus.

Ironclaw then saw what he thought was the enemy on the ground. It was a she and he could tell she was in just as bad condition as the others. He narrowed his eyes and moved closer to her when a gaint maximal stepped past him and took care of the predacon as Optimus had ordered. The maximal walked past in silence. Ironclaw knew that it wasn't time for introductions aswell.

As the gaint left for the base Ironclaw took a moment to secure his position. He didn't know why he was doing it but his optics scanned the area ahead aswell as the skies. This wasn't something he would naturally do as an engineer but he persisted. His cannons still deployed and charged. One a faint blue colour and the other a red/orange. They made a slight humming sound as part of the internal mechanism rotated.

Ironclaw powered down his weapons and made his way back into the Axalon. The area was secure, enough. He was following Optimus's orders and heading to the meeting. After the lift he went to the command centre. When he got there he noticed Aurora by herself looking upset about Whitegrazer. Ironclaw stood beside her, he didn't say anything but lightly took her hand.

Onyx listened to Glowstick, finding the craft quite a capable structure and guessed it had been used throughout this war he had landed in though he nodded Cecaelia and Steelclaw in greeting. But Cecaelia seemed quite upset, and he wondered if she had been a close friend to Starshadow and hearing this news wasn't helping with the situation but sometimes there were casualties. Offering any comfort wasn't exactly an option since Onyx barely knew these Predacons and didn't feel much sadness for a loss of someone he hadn't even worked with, though he thought of what Glowstick said wondering what he meant by her mutation and of the absence of a spark. How could a cybertronian be alive without a life force? Unless something had been living inside her to have any existence, using the body as a host to survive. "Glowstick is there a chance the bot you know as Starshadow was being used as a host body?" He suggested to the squid as he found a seat to sit in.

It seemed the only logical reason, unless it had merely been a drone. Most drones lacked any spark or much emotion at all unless given such programming, though Starshadow hadn't been a drone.Maybe it had something to do with her mutation as the other mech had said and the one who had possible been 'possessing' her was alive but was hiding so they didn't know.

Having been thrown from the battle by the force of the exploding grenades had stunned the small female. She lay on the ground still convulsing from the energon surge. Her optics had dimmed considerably, but she was still fairly conscious. She saw and heard all that was going on, but did not react much. The Maximals were busy clearing the battle field of debris and injured Maximals. She had been prepared to be forgotten about in all the hustle and bustle, but then she heard footsteps approach her and Optimus knelt by her side.
"Hang on, Arachnitron"
Optimus had said to her. He picked her up gently cradling her in his arms. She weakly turned her head towards him and looked up at him sadly. She didn't have much of a memory about what had happened between her Predacon personality and the Maximal commander, but she could tell by the look on his face that things did not go well. She took count of the many Maximals that had been around them...some of them now injured...and realized that many of them probably knew already about her split-programming. And one Predacon did too....which meant it wouldn't be long before other Predacons found out about it. She assessed all the damage and couldn't help to feel responsible for all of this. She sighed and allowed Optimus to carry her to the Maximal base.

She was concerned about her future and for the future of the Maximals. She wasn't sure if the others understood that the Predacon programming had been in control earlier and that it wasn't now. She wasn't sure what was going to happen next. She wanted to ask him what to do, but could only muster up enough strength to look up into his optics and mutter weakly.

"I'm sorry."

She looked away from him and let the stasis lock take hold....

(( OOC: Wow, una. Very interesting indeed. :D

Awe. I actually feel kind of bad for Nemesis right now. So, she has a weakness after all. ))
"I'm sorry."
Optimus looked down at Arachnitron while he walked to the Axalon with her in his arms. He frowned and was about to tell her that there was nothing to be sorry about when her optics went dark and she fell limp in his hold. Despite her current condition being serious and fading into stasis lock, she was probably safer now than when she was awake and functioning. Primal hoped she would be able to rest now since her crash on this planet and the very exhausting day she had endured. Having picked up both of her weapons on the way, he balanced them carefully on her stomach as she laid quietly in his arms.
"Yes, sir."
While Orcariner saw to Nemesis, Optimus knew it must have been a confusing emotional ride for the giant Maximal. He had just ordered him to take Nemesis, the one who he had spared her life only to have her take away Nightmist's and now found her vulnerable and at the mercy of his hands again. If Nemesis only knew. Perhaps there would be an opportunity to discuss these things with her. Primal trusted Orcariner to do the right thing and place her unharmed in their brig. Interrupting his thoughts, he heard some comotion just ahead of him and Arachnitron, but it sounded like Whitegrazer's voice. He really had thought she was close to slipping past stasis lock in her surrent state, and yet she was speaking. He watched Aurora go over to Icebreaker who was carrying the white equine, taking her hand and holding it as a sense of comfort for the terribly wounded female. Whitegrazer had better pull through because if he lost her... Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Optimus continued walking, hearing the mare's cries and the ermine/buterrfy Fuzor responding with comforting words.
"Is everyone okay?!" "Are you two okay?"
"Just lay still," "We are all safe, you as well."
"Arachnitron? Arachnitron? Optimus? Optimus?"
"They're both fine," "We're all heading back inside the Axa.."
"I have to tell you something. I have to warn you. It's-"
Warn him? About what? Optimus had no idea what Whitegrazer was talking about. He assumed she said those things under the stress her mind and body were in after the grenade incident; perhaps delayed thoughts, a rambling of sorts. He didn't know, and she returned to stasis lock before she could finish, let alone before he could question her about it. He wished he could speak with her. He wished to hold her hand and sit by her side during her repairs, but he still had a lot of work to do, and his first priority was getting Arachnitron to a CR.

Entering the base, Primal took the opposite CR chamber from the one Icebreaker and Aurora chose for Whitegrazer and very carefully settled Arachnitron inside of it. Protected now by the raw energon fields, her body had calmed down, and she peacefully sat there in the repair chamber. Stepping out and closing the door, he activated the repair sequence and stood outside the hatch's window, thoughtfully looking at the small spider inside. Rest now, Optimus thought for her. He hoped when she would wake up that her Maximal programming would be the one welcoming them. As the CR chamber began it's healing process, he stowed her weapons in a secure location and grabbed a first aid kit, relieving a deep sigh. There was a lot of explaining to do ahead of him. And it seemed the further this war was dragged out, the more violent it was getting. Frustrated by this, wondering how much longer they could possibly go on before their own destruction or the destruction of this entire planet, Primal's thoughts and emotions were colliding inside of him and he felt like screaming, crying, searching for hope. Fumbling a little with the kit with only one functional hand, the leader grabbed a long cloth bandage and walked toward the command center, glancing at Whitegrazer's CR on the way. Repairs to his hand could be done later, but he figured he might as well keep it from bleeding on everything else, and there no point in "grossing" some of the others out with the mess, and it was quite mangled.

Walking out to the command center, Optimus noticed Ironclaw and Aurora ((and perhaps Icebreaker and Feralnight by now?)) were the only ones present. What was taking the rest of the Maximals so long? Impatience covered his facial expression. He began wrapping his hand with the bandage, wincing every so often when he applied pressure to it and bumped his malfunctioning fingers pulling the cloth between his fingers, around his thumb, to his palm and around his wrist, repeating it several times. "Can anyone tell me what Rattrap's status is? His team should've been back by now," asked Optimus in an irritated tone while he kept wrapping his wounded hand and waiting for everyone to show up.

-----
"Rattrap it was self defense, you had no way of knowing that would happen. Starshadow was a tough cat but even she had her limits, you can't help what happens all the time."
"Yeah, but we ain't supposed to kill anyone! That's not what we stand for," Rattrap returned at Frilla. "All our actions reflect on Optimus and how he leads us. If they don't come after me for this, they'll be after him, moreso than they already are. It was stupid of me. I shoulda just only shot her." But I was petrified, he added only in his mind. He sincerely thought Starshadow was going to take off his head or kill him in some other painful and gruesome way. "Look, I know what you mean, Frills, but because of what I did, accidental or not depending on who's lookin' at it, it might have some serious consequences."
"Alright Rattrap it'll be good to see you guys made it at least. We had some trouble ourselves and well it wasn't exactly the return home we expected."
"Great, he's probably already in a bad mood whatever happened back at Base," the rat muttered, only audible to Frilla, Wintersong and Dinobot.

"Okay, Feral," he responded to her via their comm. link transmission. "We'll catch up with that when we get back. Rattrap out."
"Well, that's just prime!"

Feralnight came up the lift watching the others quietly until she heard Optimus,"They'll here shortly Optimus, but a few of them are injured as well." She said looking at the irritation on Optimus' face plates guessing wha tjust happened had pushed the gorilla to the breaking point. "They ran into some trouble with the Levianthan." Looking at the ground the fuzor sighed wondering what more could possibly happen and just how injured Rattrap's team was.

----------------------------------------------

"Rattrap I can tell you now there are may be very few who liked Starshadow but Cecaelia was close to her it seemed. Sonar might just thank you for ridding of his nuisance." Frilla said thinking back to how the bat and panther did nothing but argue and threaten one another. Whether it had been simple unmeaningful threats or ones to wait for the right moment she never knew but it was clear the two despised one another. Going quiet she didn't know what more to say nor how to comment on Optimus' possible mood at base but it wasn't long before the Axalon was visible and glanced back,"Wintersong you might as well go ahead of us and wait your turn for the CR chamber, but watch yourself." She told the tigeress.

Wintersong listened to Frilla and Rattrap in silence yet could only wonder just how much the Predacons would truly care for this loss, if they did at all. THere would likely only barely be a handful who would want revenge against Rattrap that was if Starshadow was truly dead. But the tigeress looked up as Frilla told her to go on ahead when the Axalon wa sin view,"Got it." She muttered nodding at them before she took off ahead but growled low in in pain, her repair systems were working to reduce the pain but not by much since it still was a short walk and the running was irritating it from so much movement. When she reached to where the lift was she waited as it came down then stepped on before it brought her up and she looked at the others.

"Whoa you guys alright?" She asked seeing some of them damaged and looking quite worried or in Optimus' case outright irritated. "Maximize." WIntersong murmured and transformed but winced as the areas only were irritated further."Rattrap, Frilla, and DInobot will be here in a minute Optimus." Wintersong added glancing at the gorilla.

(ooc;
Awe. I actually feel kind of bad for Nemesis right now. So, she has a weakness after all. ))
There is a reason Nemesis thinks more than once before she goes into caves or anything like that. She tries to avoid situations where she feels confined, so she doesn't break into a panic over not being in control. She did not turn into the coldhearted *insert bad word here* that she is today out of nowhere. Her 'upbringing' so to speak was less than stellar, leaving permanent marks on her personality.

Also I'm going to have Icebreaker make his appearance at the meeting as well, since his player has a lot on his plate right now. Both good and bad.)

The little fuzor did not say anything as Ironclaw and Primal joined her in the debriefing room. Her arm was hanging limply at her side when Ironclaw picked it up, no doubt to show his empathy for the events that had occurred that day, a gesture that caused Aurora to look at him and smile ever so slightly to show him she appreciated his company right now.

The events from today had escalated way out of control. Aurora glanced over at Primal, seeing his one hand attempting to wrap the other, bleeding and seemingly mangled, one in bandages. The ermine briefly stepped away from Ironclaw, not saying a word as she took the roll of bandages into her own hands and proceeded to wrap the commander's hand in soft layers of the fabric. Once satisfied it would not fall off or bleed through any time soon, she tied off the end by tucking it underneath some of the previous layers. She tilted her head, looking up at the primate, and took a step back so that she was once again standing next to Ironclaw.

Aurora still did not know what had happened out there today. She had seen Arachnitron start to act out while the Predacon personality was in charge, but she had not expected it to end up like this. Was the spider truly capable of such extreme violence?

Somehow she doubted Arachnitron had been behind the massive destruction she had witnessed out there, especially after seeing how affectionately Optimus had rushed her to the CR chamber moments before. But Aurora did not ask their leader what had happened, figuring it would all be revealed during the debriefing.

Others were starting to join them now, as Feralnight and Wintersong made their appearances as well. The remaining members of the away team were entering the base as well, so it shouldn't be long now. Wintersong seemed rather beaten up, so Aurora couldn't help thinking the mission had not ended well. Following them was the giant penguin, who quietly settled in a chair in the far corner of the room. Aurora nodded to each of the newcomers before casting a glance at their commanding officer. Poor Primal who cared so much for his Maximals must really be having a rough day, she thought, and could not help admiring the way the primate kept his composure throughout all of this.

-------
"Security alert! All available personnel report to room 283!"
The voice from the speaker system echoed throughout the holding areas. Guards began moving in within seconds of the message ending. They forcefully subdued the panicking male inside, pinning him to the floor while restraining him. Then they took him away.

This was not an uncommon occurrence for the lone teenage female in holding cell 284. As the testing progressed more and more cases of subjects resisting, collapsing, trying to escape, or simply going insane kept the security officers busy. Yet their attempts at rebelling always turned out to be futile. Normally the subjects were physically forced to undergo the treatments if they resisted. In rare cases the subjects had been killed for resisting too much, but this number was minor compared to the vast number of subjects who died from the actual experiments.

The young female, who had been given the number 1047, cringed as she heard the guards drag the weeping form of subject 982 from his holding cell right next to hers. The two of them had never met face to face, but they would frequently communicate through the wall after the lights had been shut off, offering some comfort in this place of horrors.

Hearing the sounds of a struggle, the female moved over to the bars and pressed herself up against them to try to see what was going on. In the distance she caught a glimpse of her friend, #982, attempting to punch one of the guards in a desperate move to escape. Their retaliation was imminent; shooting him in the head and killing him on the spot. The female lowered her head and looked away so they would not see the sadness in her eyes when they walked by while removing 982's corpse. She sighed, slowly making her way over to the bed and sitting down on it with her hands folded in her lap. She sat like this for a few minutes.

Then the voice in the speakers appeared again.
Subject 1047 report to testing area immediately."
-----

Nemesis' attention snapped back to reality and she looked around frantically. Much to her dismay she was still in the Maximals' brig.

To shelter herself from the freezing temperatures, she kept her wings wrapped around herself like a cape. On the floor in front of her she had gathered up pieces of the broken ice and made a chess game of sorts to keep herself entertained. And more importantly to try to keep her attention off the fact she was in prison. That, too, had been a futile attempt.

(Heh, don't worry about me too much.. though I will admit getting the most awesome hottest girlfriend in the world one day, then having my pet of 9 years to be put down the next has been rather..traumatic on my senses.. But, I'll live!.. I think..)

Glowstick floated into the bridge, looking towards Onyx Ah, no.. I've done work on her many times before, she had a spark. I would of assumed it was destroyed in the blast, but.. there would of been a positronic residue all over. So.. her spark appears to be "missing", as if it was extracted. Considering the maximals don't have the technology to do that.. I don't know what is going on.

He then floated towards Cecaelia, giving her a light hug, he then looked towards the computer console at the seat Cecaelia was at. If something had taken the spark, it would of left some sort of trail. He thought for a moment, then released his embrace on Cecaelia Steelclaw.. I think I have an idea. With the Maximals gone, we can investigate the scene.. I mean it's just a theory but, you have the best beast mode for tracking.. You think you wanna give it a shot? You're nose would be able to pick up if something was unusual with the scene.

____________________

Icebreaker having taken a seat, started thinking over what had happened. He'd failed in protecting Whitegrazer, if he acted differently at the time or been more alert, he could have detected Nemesis being near by. Optimus was injured, and Nemesis got to live safely in a cell. The culprit that took Nightmist's life, stripped her of her parts and being. Though without that, and some mishaps Aurora wouldn't of been born, the spunkly little kid, seeming younger then even Cheetor.

He then looked towards Rhinox, sitting at the computer console typing away as usual. Icebreaker stood up walking past Aurora and patting her on the head softly, then walked over to Rhinox and the computer What's her status?

Rhinox looked towards Icebreaker for a moment Well considering the party you had out there, I'm surprised it's not worse. She's critical, but she will stabilize.. She's lucky it happened just outside base. I'm not sure what would of happened out in the field even with you there.

A direct hit on a spark chamber for an unarmored Maximal... I'm not that good. Not at all.. It's worse in her case though.. I just don't get it, she's a soldier.. yet she runs around practically naked out there..

Rhinox looked back towards the screen typing She has her reasons.. and not all soldiers are built as tough as Optimus or you. What happened out there anyway? Scanners only detected one Predacon.

Icebreaker's optics narrowed One Predacon is all it takes.. specially when that predacon is Nemesis..

Cecaelia wiped her tears while listening. A glow on the floor near the door caught her attention. "Wait.." she went over to the substance and tasted it. "Pleh! It taste like..Netherzarian mech fluid." she followed the trail which led her to the quarters. Before attempting to open the door, she screamed as she was pulled in to the room, with the door shutting close again. After that, there was silence. Cecaelia was lying on the floor with three holes on her body.

OOC: Yeah OOP is visiting the memorial in PA (according to her post in the Absentee list), I'm assuming others also wanted to devote the weekend to the memory of those who perished ten years ago. Not to mention it's game day at the same time...so die hard football fans, like myself, will be spending the day watching the games! :-D

But my character is in the CR chamber at the moment, so I figured I'd wait till Rattrap and the other maximals returned to the Axalon before taking her out.....

(ooc: Yeah.. I was talking with some paramedics/firefighters about how the rescuers were not invited to the memorial of 9/11 since there 'wasn't any room due to the vast number of politicians coming' yesterday.. Bs, I tell ya, that the people working to save lives during 9/11 were not invited.. And woke up this morning with a severe case of writer's itch and totally forgot what day it was. :( But since this post is not relevant to anyone else's character, I think I'm just going to type it up and post it now anyway.)

Nemesis looked up at the ceiling with a blank stare on her face. The thoughts rushing through her mind were quite overwhelming at this point. It felt as if she'd been stuck in this hellhole for days already, yet the truth was that it was probably more likely only a few hours. She had no way of telling without even a window to the outside.

Were the Maximals going to leave her there to rot? Or were they currently planning how they would arrange for her execution?

Neither option would surprise her in the least. The former Decepticon was well aware that the Maximals were less than fond of her after all the things she had done to them. She wasn't expecting a trial, given the fact a trial had the potential of leading to a verdict of 'innocent'. So a trial would merely be wasting everyone's time and resources, seeing there was no doubt she had committed the crimes she stood accused of. At least among the Decepticons, and she assued Predacons as well, trials were rarely used. If someone had done something to upset the stability of the group, they would simply be put in front of a firing squad. Fast and simple solution to any problem. Nemesis wondered if the Maximals would do something similar. A firing squad just seemed unlikely given they knew of her healing capabilities. So they were probably going to have something even worse planned by the time they came for her, if they ever did.

The female let her right hand rest on top of her left wrist, subconsciously wanting to hide the truth. Even now. Underneath her hand was the still visible inscription they had made in her armor. The inscription may have faded a little bit over the years, but the number '1047' was still visible. It was where they had branded her to distinguish her from the rest. Her ‘slave number’ so to speak.. or perhaps ‘subject number’ would be a more accurate description. It was the one physical scar she had on her body that would never heal, since it had been there since before they had managed to successfully implement the nanotechnology into her circuits and as such was recognized as part of her body frame by the nanobots within her. Nemesis hated her mark of shame so much she had attempted to cut her own arm off in the past. The pain had been unbearable but for a brief moment she had thought she was free of her last remaining physical remnant from her past. It didn't last long. The nanobots within had immediately reconstructed the missing portion of the arm to the exact specifications coded into them. Every finger, every contour of the hand, and that number she hated above anything else.

Perhaps in death she would finally be set free..

Nemesis did not especially fear the prospect of dying, nor did she welcome the idea either. If anything she feared being incarcerated for eternity a lot more. She had come close to dying before on a few occasions, the last time being that battle in space that had resulted in her arriving on this planet. But that had not been the first time she should have died..

----
The young female's eyes flickered on for a brief moment. She was surrounded by scientists but none of them appeared to notice she was awake. They appeared busy with hooking up the equipment for another transfusion. Having experienced several transfusions before, the female knew all too well just how bad the pain could get. The transfusions contained two parts; one being the actual nanotechnology they were attempting to implement, and the other was a mixture of compounds designed to make the host environment more friendly to the nanobots. Unfortunately for the host, however, the technology was not compatible with a transformer's circuitry. As a result the nanotechnology would die off before ever getting a chance to grow and multiply in their new host, and in most cases the host would end up having seizures and after a certain amount or type of compound had accumulated, they would die.

Yet the scientists refused to give up, merely changing their rate of infusion and mixing up the ingredients making up the compound. Why they were so determined to succeed, #1047 did not know.. She had spent most of her young life in this place, never having seen much of the outside world. What she did know, however, was that they were trying to create a new breed of transformers. Many of her species had gone with a technology they referred to as 'protoform' technology, which included a (usually) smaller frame thus conserving energy that way, that during transport to new locations had been stripped of their physical attributes so that they could receive a new form altogether to better blend in with the wildlife of whatever world they went to.

This process had already started when Nemesis was first brought online, and had rapidly grown in popularity and was thought of as the best solution for a planet depleted of energon. Nemesis, however, had been created as part of a last ditch effort by a group of renegade Decepticons who refused to convert to the protoform technology. Instead they searched for alternative methods, performing experiments on those willing (or desperate enough) to sign up. And in some cases they would use captured enemies as test subjects.

#1047 felt herself tense up as the infusion process began. She had heard the scientists talk amongst themselves about adding an additional component to the mixture to see if it would make any difference in the outcome. Judging by their tone, it did not sound like they expected the results to differ any, having performed these experiments on so many others before her without success. While her optics dimmed, she watched as the content of the IV bags shrunk as more and more was infused into her. She felt a burning sensation, but not much else. The scientists watched her with only semi-interest.

Then the tremors began.

Within moments the biggest seizure she had experienced thus far occured. She twitched on the table, tearing at her restraints. The pain just kept intensifying beyond anything she could possibly have imagined. #1047 screamed, then whimpered, then.. silence.. Her body growing limp in an instant.

They examined her lifeless form, looking between themselves.

"Enter the time of death in the logs," the chief medical officer proclaimed, not visibly disturbed by what had just happened at all. He had seen similar deaths many times before. Sadly the nanobots could not be extracted since they always perished with the host. Subject 1047 was now no more than garbage to him and his priority was to continue experimenting with the next subject.

“She is still alive,” the lab tech assistant reported as they were preparing the ‘body’ for disposal. The scientist turned towards him with a surprised facial expression, not having expected anyone to survive such brutality without a functioning repair system implemented. Thus far their prize experiment had eluded them, costing them hundreds of hours of labor and the lives of most of their test subjects.

“Is that so?,” the scientist responded. “Very well then. Have this one repaired. We shall resume our work once she has recovered.”

I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

((PArdon the absence but I was hit with a butt load of homework this weekend which I blame my teachers. But I'll make a quick post while I have the chance since we also got some things going on here.))

Onyx only shrugged his shoulders, it had been a theory and a suggestion which could have been easily ruled out if she had a spark in the first place. After that was said and done the horse mech took to looking at the inside of the Levianthan to pass the time and let the others do what needed to be done, though he glanced over as he heard Cecaelia suddenly when when blue ringed octopus femme suddenly screamed, that normally wasn't a good sign. "Cecaelia?" He said as he stood but noticed the trail and narrowed his optics, this nethezarian mech fluid she had said something about before might have led to the one who had extracted Starshadow's spark. "Guess we don't need to track anyone after all."He remarked to Glowstick and Steelclaw before following the trail and stopped in front of one of the doors, cocking his head slightly in wonder.

"Cecaelia is everything alright?" Onyx called as he knocked on the door, not aware that she was harmed,"Is someone else in there?" He was beginning to get a little concerned for what exactly was going on here and what the slag he had gotten himself into. These bots were certainly a strange bunch and unlike any he had met in the past. What in the name of primus had occurred since he had been in stasis?

Glowstick blinked and turned looking towards Cecaelia as she suddenly mentioned the name nethezarian. He then watched as Cecaelia was suddenly dragged away Cecaelia!... He waited for a response, but heard none. Watching Onyx, he then brought up the camera from the crew quarters on the Leviathan, seeing the image of Cecaelia on the floor. That name.. and now this.. Er.. you guys know I said Starshadow went under a mutation? Cecaelia also had the same mutation.. caused by a parasite. Supposedly the thing lived in their sparks.. but I never found evidence of it. So.. I'm thinking you may want to get your guns ready..

He then powered up the laser cannons in his feeder tentacles, floating slowly towards the door. He'd only seen this situation in horror movies, he didn't think he'd end up having to deal with it on his own ship when they weren't even in space. Worse yet, since the bridge had no escape hatches, the only way out was the only way in. So they would have to go through that door at some point.
