The Intergalactic Highway

Well, it isn't BW or fanart for any cartoon for that matter, but I was inspired to draw this and I thought I'd share it.

Barbaro

I drew this in memory of the horse who fought for his life for almost a year; Barbaro.

For anyone who saw what happened with him at last year's Preakness, it was a true tragedy. And anyone who knows horses knows that breaking a leg is pretty much the end of that horse. It's a terrible thing to happen. I couldn't believe that every time I heard his name on the news, he was still fighting to survive. I believe he was a real inspiration for people even though it was sad to hear when he was put down.

Barbaro will be remembered. I wish I could have met him.

i think i heard about hat. it is a very sad story. sniff. i did hear about this one horse who fractured its leg, but somehow a vet saved her and she was able to have her foal. sniff...

Moosey: Thank you! XD I haven't posted this drawing at RvB yet anyway, so don't worry about it. In fact, I haven't updated a lot things yet over there. >.<

Jagna: Thankies! I love horses too. I miss the ones I used to have. But I often get to take care of two horses and a pony we used to own who all belong to a family-friend couple. ^.^ The one horse and I don't get along very well but the last time I took care of her, I think we came to a neutral agreement because she didn't give me any problems. She has attitude, though. I absolutely love the paint, he's so funny. And the pony, we had adopted her years ago and she had been abused very badly. You couldn't touch her ears, or her neck or her hooves, and she'd hate it if you stood behind her. It took us about a year to get her to calm down about those sensitive areas. It was shame she was abused at all because she's so cute and very, very smart. But she has another good home now. ^.^ Horses are awesome.

I haven't heard of the story, but just by reading the description and looking at the paining makes me sad.

Thanks, fizzy. It's very sad. It was horrible witnessing that race on TV when it aired. Poor Barbaro. He was a beautiful horse. His name will be infamous even though he didn't win because he struggled so long to survive his injury. He really wanted to live. It's great to see animals with such strong spirits, hearts and personalities.
