Optimus Primal

Done aaaand done. ^.^

Just finished up some loose ends on this painting. Looks good! I think so, anyway. To be matted, framed and handed to Garry when I see him for the third time at this year's '06 MechaCon. He's the only one receiving a painting because I had actually started this a month or so prior to finding out about the MechaCon and that he was attending. And even when that happened, I wasn't entirely sure I was going to give it to him. It's so hard to let go of my art. XD LoL Especially the paintings. Could you imagine me letting go of the Megatron I painted and giving it to David? Well, maybe I'd do it, if the time ever arises to meet him again.

Anywho, I chose this form of Primal because I've heard Garry say it more than once that it was his favorite form of the Maximal leader because he looks like a gorilla this way. So, cheers to him and to me and my memory! LoL

I did not add a background for a couple reasons. One, the other voice actors' drawings don't have any for theirs that I drew because I'm not confident in myself with backgrounds yet, and it would take longer to complete the drawings. And another is because I couldn't find the episode where headshot was taken from on my reference (see below). Obviously from the first season, but there are too many episodes to watch and find it. x.X So, unlike my Megatron painting, this one has no background. Not a big deal. It almost looks like it's all in grayscale anyway. And the white background could be symbolic with Primal's personality, wisdom, courage, honor and heroics. See? It all works out.

I think I know where that pose is from (episode I mean), it's been nagging me...now if only I could remember which one it was...

It was the first time he said "Well, that's just Prime." Before RT made his comment. YAY I remembered! I think.

BTW, great job. Looks like something you'd see at a mussem(sp?) or a Botcon.
