Yes, I'm a bad lurker elf...

I do have a cute story to tell though, concerning the next generation of Beast Wars fans. There is in fact artwork at the end. Skip there of you think I talk to much.

So anyways, my little cousin Henry is a BIG fan of the movie "Robots", and of 'bots in general. When he came over last month to play, my brother promised to build a Lego R2D2 with him. The build was taking a bit longer than expected, so to entertain the kid, I gave him my toy Silverbolt to play with. He didn't show a lot of interest at first, but the longer Matt took to find the right Lego peices, the more appealing the "bird" robot became.

Out comes the rest of the team.

Optimal Op, Prime, Hot Rod, a McDonald's Tarantulas, a little metal Ravage cassette, and my personal favorite, classic Optimus. Now Henry is enthralled.

By the time we head off to to the movie theatre to see "Over the Hedge", Henry wants to take one of the toys in the car with us. Optimal was too big, so he settles on classic (with MANY "be careful with him!"s from me. After all, this is my favorite for a number of reasons, especially because Starath gave him to me). He doesn't set it down until we get there, and when we leave, it's the first thing he looks for.

By this point, it's time for the episodes.

He couldn't remember the names, but he's got a good memory for the "good/bad guys". He very quickly began cheering for the Maximals.

Last night we're at my Grandmother's house, and he decides to start drawing everyone's favorite things. I thought that after a month he'd forget about the Beast Warriors. Oh no.



First thing he draws.

"The brown one that shoots the green lasers out of his eyes"; my "favorite one"; "the yellow cat"; "the green one with the spikes on his chest".

Lol sorry Sapph, I couldn't get him to remember who Rattrap was!

And appearantly he and his friends have stopped playing "Robots". Instead they play...

Well, you guessed it.

Beast Wars.

*laughs* I've been doing the same thing with a few kids from my church! There's this one British kid, Adam, who's hilarious and insatable . . . he loves G1 Op. Prime, so I have to draw him the Big Guy's head . . . then there's the kid who can't get enough of the show and LOVES everything about it and the toys . . . *chuckles* he can do a CLASSIC raptor impersonation *laughs*. Overall, it's really fun bringing up these nex-gens, huh?

Kinda makes you feel like an Autobot relating "grand ol' war stories" to the Maximal kiddies, huh?

OMG Nurann, that is soooo cute. I wish I could get little children into the whole Beast Wars series, but then again, they may be a little scared of Tarantulas. j/k

Pretty soon, he'll probably want to think up fanfics later on in his life. So precious.

Hey yeah, you do end up feeling like Kup talking to the Dinobots, don't you? What's the quote? "Me Grimlock like Kup's war stories!" or something like that...

Scared of Tarry? Just try showing an ep where he gets squashed first, the fear's gone after that. I tried to get him to watch "The Low Road" first (I figured it was pretty mild, good for a five-year old). We got as far as Tarantulas getting crushed by the boulder, but WOW did he ever howl at that! I don't think he'll ever be scared of the spider again
I'll tell him you thought it was nice! I'm sure he'll be really happy

*giggles* That is just cute, Nurann! Ahhhh, the joys of spreading Beast Wars to the younger generation....
